Doctors Don't know Everything. . .

From time to time I get posts from readers challenging me to see my medical degree OR saying that they have world renown doctors "telling" them that Reliv is OK. This is a bunch of BS! Our doctors have sold out to the Pharmaceutical companies OR whoever they happen to be working for such as the doctors that get millions for saying that Reliv is good for you.

I have said before that IF Reliv is working for you great but Reliv does NOT work for everyone and you should not be forcing it down peoples throats. Too many people are told it's OK, and when it doesn't work, they say buy more and take more, etc.

One of my past articles is about someone that I know personally. They had breast cancer, the doctor told them to stop taking ALL soy products but the Reliv Distributor told her doctors don't know anything to take more more more. She died shortly after and her cancer had been in remission.

So don't give me this BS about what your doctors told you, especially IF this doctor is selling or working for Reliv.

Reliv is not for everyone and there are many other products out there that don't have the high soy in them.

When someone challenges your medical expertise, you can generally challenge theirs, in retaliation. I have heard SO MANY TIMES a line similar to "I don't have to be a doctor to know it works, I have seen the proof." and "Doctors don't want you to know about this because they would be out of a job." Well, most doctors go into the field to help people, not to withhold information so their patients die. It drives me up the wall to hear these things.
I have been called a bad parent and told I was poisoning my daughter with prescriptions by a family member who is a distributor. Guess what? I ASKED. The doctor (a world renown doctor, at that) told me that she needed the specific medication she was on and he wouldn't prescribe it if he thought the risk was greater than the benefit.
Doctors are not gods and they don't know everything. But they have years more education and training than a snake oil salesman!

I'm extremely concerned about Reliv. My son's father (we are not together) recently was told about Reliv by his boss, whose whole family takes and sells Reliv. So he's now set up as a distributor himself. He's been pressuring me to start taking it because he said he noticed it's allowed him to focus a lot more and has given him more energy. He also wants to start giving it to our 2 year old son. I've temporarily put the kabosh on that, saying I want to wait until he's old enough to express any symptoms he's having to us, but he's very into this stuff right now and I don't want him to start giving this to our son behind my back thinking it'll help him. I've sent him links to your site but he's convinced it's safe and healthy and that it's helped him. I'm all for healthy vitamins and supplements but I don't want to experiment on my son. Do you know of any stories related to the kids Reliv products which I can use to convince him it's not safe?

Hi Maria,

Thank you for taking the time to read our site and I am glad that you have found some useful info here.

First of all, Reliv works differently for different people. Many do have good results from their products but sadly others don't and these stories are rarely told. This is why I work so hard to keep the positive off this site. Not that I have some grudge or ax to grind but simply I want people to find this info easier without having to dig through 100s of articles.

The biggest thing with Reliv would to study into the effects of Soy on the body. The soy industry has spent millions convincing people it's the safer alternative to dairy products but in reality there is a dark side even to soy. You will find a few articles on my blog, you can find more on Dr Mercola's website, and by doing a Google search.

There are so many other good products out there that don't have all the soy and artificial sugars in it that Reliv does.

But like any MLM, people get excited about a product, they make a little money with no effort, and they start cramming it down everyone's throats. Reliv tastes nasty and I think you will find that the eagerness of your EX will wear off over time.

The choice is yours, don't let anyone pressure into something you aren't sure about yourself.

I started Reliv products and have been on Zyflamend in the past. The chinese herb in zyflamend increased my liver enzymes (which it can do), so I only took it when my joints got really bad. I was a pharmacist for 23 years and wouldn't take over half the meds I was dispensing because there are healthier alternatives, mainly diet and exercise. I did feel clarity and energy increase (I try to run 4 to 5 days a week). Like anything else it's important to listen and know what your body is saying. I haven't tried all the products and was resistant about soy for a long time.
The best thing is to eat healthy (according to what YOUR body needs), some of us need more protein, etc. We ALL need exercise! I don't think it is a bad product, but not for everyone. I probably won't take it for life. I didn't think the orange flavor was horrible. I do think it is safer than many of the prescription medications I used to dispense. People noticed a change in my energy levels, probably due to the vitamins. Some multivitamins with minerals would bother my stomach so I couldn't take them, not so with the 2 reliv products I am taking. OH yea I went to a meeting and was impressed by the information on the research by several universities, never felt the pressure of sell, sell, sell. I've been to "cultish" like meetings and this was not one of them. The people I got reliv from are not like that AT ALL. I'm interested in any comments about Juice plus? I have some friends who distribute that product. Let me know!
