My Reliv Motive and Helping People

I am not sure if the poster of this comment is still reading the blog but I wanted to answer this post I got this morning. "I noticed you didn't bother to add my positive comments about Reliv to your blog. That tells me a lot about your motive to "help" people."

The purpose of this blog is and will always remain to post negative stories about Reliv, it's products and business. The web is FULL of sites and reviews that post only the positive or sites that are simple flooded by over ambitious distributors. I want to give people a chance to read the negative without having to dig through all the BS that is floating around. I have been to meetings, I have heard the canned phone calls, most I believe are just pre-digested BS.

Yes Reliv does help some people, good for you, but that will not change the fact that Reliv hurts some as well. So please don't bother sending me your positive stories, they won't get posted.

Way to go! Folks need to do their own homework and in order to do that, it's only fair to have different viewpoints, so they can make an educated decision. As for me, I have two friends that are trying to pressure me into the biz of Reliv and Mary Kay. Both are extremely similar in format. Frankly, the high pressure and it turning great folks into obsessed, non listening robots is upsetting me. It's making my relationship with these two friends rather awkward and I'm getting offended that they're making me uncomfortable. I made the mistake of buying product from both with the intention of helping them, and it feels like they took my kindness for weakness, and I'm now seen as an easy target to recruit. It's sad. By the time they realize the true cost of doing biz with these MLM companies, they'll be hard pressed to get a friend to answer the phone...It's ruining relationships! I just got the Reliv, and was astounded to find that they have so much soy product and soy protein in them! I'm going to ask for my money back! I have endometriosis and low thyroid. I had surgery for endometriosis and on meds for thyroid. I've been specifically told by my endocrinologist to limit my soy intake. She said a little here and there is fine, but no soy milk or soy based protein shakes. This tells me so much. Soy was a "fad" and it's been known for some time that soy, esp unfermented can really mess with hormone balance and digestion! I mean, this is pretty common knowledge. But instead of using some profits to reformulate health products based on what is known today, they're pocketing the profits and holding steadfast to the formulas they already spent money on. They don't want to lose money, you know. Oh, and I got the LunaRich, which is supposed to be a newer product, having Lunasin, another soy product. Why are they adamantly staying on this road? I was also astounded to find that many ingredients are very common. It's easy to get these ingredients in many protein shakes found at health food stores and most are in a good multivitamin. I supposedly got the discount and it's still double what I've paid for similar product at my local health shop. Snake oil. The cherry on top...every other day, a new phone call with a new person telling how these products saved their lives by curing them of whatever. I understood the first call, but now I'm uncomfortable.

Let me say this, I'm an account manager in the elevator industry and have been nearly 10 years. What I've learned about sales is relationship. I have high standards for others in sales. When someone is pushy, doesn't listen, etc...I become a stubborn mule and automatically dig my heels in. I won't do that to my clients, esp because I want to continue to do business with them. Sadly, my Reliv friend has continued the calls even though I've told her I'm not interested in selling, she knows I'm on disability right now due to a complication from surgery, that I have to have another surgery and my husband is having surgery tomorrow. She doesn't care. She wants another sale, she wants to add people below her. That's what MLMs train you for. Because they don't care about you or your relationships. It's all about what they can get out of you, their rep, aka their ultimate end user. Thanks for the place to vent!
