Why does your blog advertise for Reliv and soy products (SoyJoy bars) if they are so bad? I don't get it, could you explain.

Hello - It took me a few minutes to figure out what you were referring to. I read and re-read this entire article and listened to the video and I could not find anything like what you were suggesting I was doing.

Then it hit me, you must be referring to the advertisements that Google put into my blog. These are chosen by content in my blog and I cannot see or view them unless I find another computer not at my IP. I think they are trying to keep me from clicking on the ads to make more money. :)

Anyway I will look into this and see if I can get these ads blocked as I sure don't want to advertise for something I am saying is bad.

Thank you for bringing this to my attention.

HELP!!! My mom starting taking Reliv about 6 weeks ago for menopause and for arthritis. She has never felt better. She became a distributor and I felt the need buy some product though I believe that eating a well balanced diet is the key to health, not these miracle drinks. She told me "it can't hurt you". So now I am researching it and it seems that it CAN hurt me and my children. I am now one week into it, the diarhea is about gone, the head aches subsiding... I know she has gotten my friend with fibromalsia (sp?) and lupus on it and she is feeling great for now, too. I feel so torn. They love the product and can't understand why everyone wouldn't want to be healthy and feel their best.

My questions:
- Why do we get the runs and headaches at the start? They say it is a cleansing but if it is, shouldn't it keep cleaning as I put in more candy and colds? And yet it is only for the first week.

-How do we know who to believe on the soy controversy. It seems like we can find "truths" from both sides of the argument.

-Is there anyone out there that has had their thyroid affected by this product? I saw indications that people with existing thyroid imbalances had issue but did it create or fuel the issue? My daughter has a thyroid problem so I am scared. My friend was on Reliv and found out she has a thyroid problem AND is pregnant. Her doc told her to get off the Reliv and she did but found herself low in energy and now is back on against the advise of her doctor. Can this hurt the baby because of the estrogen levels??

Thank you for your input and help. I know you are not a doctor but anyone with personal experiences can answer.

Lastly, it seems like most people felt better in the short run and THEN had issues. Why is this?

Hello Brooke - Thank you for taking the time to read my blog. Like some of the other questions I have received, it is really hard for me to answer. On one side some people, like your mother have had "results" from Reliv and so I don't want to be the person to tell them to stop. But at the same time, I do believe that the high Soy that is in Reliv can be dangerous and this is risk that each person needs to consider. I do hope that some of our other readers will give some input on this question.

I agree with you 100%, if you have a good diet I see no reason that person needs to take these high dosage vitamins like Reliv. And this would be my first suggestion for you. DON'T take it yourself and DON'T give it to your children.

Question 1 - Honestly I am not sure. I would assume you are using the Fibrestore and this is "suppose" to help cleanse your body and gives you a high dose of fiber to help the whole plumbing issue. :) But at the same time, you have started over-dosing your body on vitamins which it isn't use to. And many people have severe reactions to Soy as it's a very high allergenic item. Bottom line, there could be many reasons.

Question 2 - This I think is an age old question. Who do we believe is right? I would never say that I am the only one right. I have spent hours searching the Internet and I know both positive and negative information are out there. But something I have noticed, the positive info tends to be older and the negative info tends to be newer. As far as who to believe, I can only encourage you to search for yourself and decide.

Question 3a - For the first part, I can only hope that someone will write in with some answers for us.

Question 3b - I am sorry to hear about your friend who was not able to get off Reliv. We had a poster write in last year who could not leave the product as it left her feeling so badly. To me, this in itself isn't right. If her doctor told her to stop, she needs to stop. She might feel down for a week or so but she needs to stop taking the products and eventually will go back to feeling normal. Reliv and their distributors should NEVER undermine a doctor!

Question 4 - I have always heard that 90% of the problems we suffer are in our head. If you remember the stories from days gone by about the traveling salesman offering their elixirs that would "cure anything". Many people after taking them felt better but when Science finally caught up, many of these elixirs were nothing more than mere water. Those taking it believed it would help and it did for a short time. In some cases, I think it's the same with Reliv.

I hope you can find some answers to the truth behind Reliv and Soy. If you choose to continue taking Reliv, and the same for your mother and friends, I would suggest that they look into Breast Thermography. You can read more info about this at www.breastthermography.com Thermography uses Infrared Imaging to detect changes in the breast and can give you a real heads up on stopping cancer before it starts. And unlike Mammograms, women from the age of 18 can start being checked. The reason I mention this is, Soy is dangerous for women to take and so if you are going to continue using it, get checked regularly to make sure it isn't causing problems in other areas.
