Reliv is Back - The "Terminators"

I was surfing the Net and came accross this article. I thought it was interesting. This same thing happen to some people that I know but aren't on this list. They were kicked for no reason, and I mean NO REASON accept Reliv was worried they might do something wrong. The person wrote and assured Reliv they weren't but Reliv NEVER responded. RUDE! Anyway, with a company as large as Reliv it's not worth fighting them.

RELIV

CHESTERFIELD MISSOURI

Rod Cook an MLM WatchDog Editorial........posted

Reliv Chesterfield, MO.

Terminated a bunch of people about five years ago. It is my editorial belief that they started the IRS digging into Independent contractor status in this killing off of top distributors several years ago. Reliv had lawsuits going right and left for termination of MLM Distributors for sneezing. Now the IRS thing pops up.

Reliv terminated a good friend of mine Steve Carr that did the "Home Business Radio Show out of Chicago on WLS radio. Shortly there after Reliv in it's Chesterfield location got flooded out, now that ... I thought to myself was Karma working at it's best.....to bad the rest of Missouri had to get flooded to get Reliv for it's evil practices as an MLM Company. Others terminated...

Cindy and Kirby Wright
Brad Murray
Patty Newlin
Paul Devlin

Oh, what terribly competitor of Reliv did Steve Carr join? An MLM grocery club and never told any of his downline. So with a rumor running now that Reliv is one of the companies the IRS is after is almost fun except for the damage Reliv as an MLM will do to the rest of the industry as their distributors get classified as employees and have with holding tax whacked out of their checks.... OUCH TERMINATIONS...

Make Me TOE THE LINE with this MLM WatchDog Editorial!

The Reliv cases were the first I remember that one of the terminated charged they were being treated as an employee and NOT an Independent Contractor. I will find Steve Carr (who Did the great radio show) and find old details.

There is currently a storm rising within the IRS to clamp down on Independent Contractors. The core of it comes from builders who treat their subs (carpenters, AC, dry wallers etc) as employees.

1. Only work for them (many MLM's Melaluca being the worst)
2. Go where and when the builder says (MLM be at convention)
3. Can fire at will no specified cause - many.

Just like MLM Companies do. They want their cake and eat it too, so they are endangering the beauty of our whole system. Why complaints have reached the IRS from terminated MLMers...

BTW not by way of DRA - For sure

So MLM and Building Construction are being looked at... by the IRS. darn! Why? The IRS wants with holding taken from Independent Contractor checks on a monthly basis. Then at tax time you would have to beg to get your money back. Now the beauty is that a smart Networker banks his estimated taxes... collects interest on them util they do a schedule C. So what the IRS would do... Is take MLMers money.... loan it out as Government notes... then reluctantly give it back if you passed a schedule C "go" on April 15th each year.

Reliv of Chesterfield, Mo - terminated Steve Carr and others for belonging to an MLM wholesale grocery company. They did not raid their downline.. Steve is one of the most ethical people that I know. There were about 3-5 lawsuits and I am sure some of them filed complaints with the IRS on the Independent Contractor status. Will Ask Steve when I find him..

Now a good thing would be if MLM Companies like Reliv who terminate distributors for flaky reasons (a wholesale grocery company for heaven's sake). So there is a 5 year history on this thing. Reliv would be at a disadvantage to other MLM - Network Marketing Companies.

#1 A GOOD OUTCOME OF IRS PUSH ON INDEPENDENT CONTRACTORS (IC's)
Companies like Reliv Chesterfield, Mo would be individually be forced to make Distributors employees for violating IRS rules on IC's. Reliv would be forced to with hold money on monthly commissions paid to MLM - Network Marketing Distributors.

# 2 A BAD OUTCOME OF PUSH ON INDEPENDENT CONTRACTORS
The whole MLM Industry would be forced to collect with holding on a monthly basis from commissions to be paid. This is what I fear.

In the middle of this storm (that started in May of this year 2007) with the IRS the Distributor Rights wants number one to occur. We put this concern into our DRA causes of action over 3 years ago.... The DRA collective membership at the annual meeting put it in our causes and charter.... You guys.. our meetings of top MLM - Network Marketing Distributors are amazing (including you guys)..... I swear those very verbal DRA meeting rooms... have and IQ of 3 billion and the foresight of the Oracle of Delphi - what we codified 3 years ago in an annual meeting has just surfaced in Washington, D.C. as a threat. The DSA with all their horsepower only put it on the front burner this June. Every member reading this that voted on our FIGHT THE IRS .... should pat themselves on the back because you saw it coming 3 years ago.
